1. Don’t just sit there! Do something! Ever heard the phrase “please stay on the line.”? And get stuck on listening some irritating music over the phone? Or how about staring aimlessly on your computer wishing it to download faster? Well, here’s a tip for you. Don’t sit down and curse fruitlessly on those things. Stand right up, phase around the room, jog or march in place. Not only will this trim you down but is also a more effective way of calming down.
2. Taking a break? How about break a sweat? Walking on the stairs is an effective way to burn calories especially if you took an extra donut with your coffee. It can also get your blood pumping giving you a jolt of energy and alertness. Use the stairs as often as you can.
3. Take two please! Stairwalking should be like a reflex to you now. But to increase its effect, try to take two steps at a time. This will target your gluteal muscles as well as your thigh muscles giving a more sexier shape. And the more you increase your speed the fats you take off.
4. Be environment friendly. If your office is just a few blocks from your residence then try walking. Or leave your car a few distance away from your office and walk the rest of the way. Not in the mood for walking? How about oiling up those old tires and ride that bicycle to work? Make a habit of walking at least 3 times a week.
5. Don’t be a couch potato. Put on your favorite TV show or movie every night and watch the tube while doing your work out. Place whatever exercise machine you have near the TV so wont miss a line. If your machines are too big to be placed near the tube then bring out your dumbbells, ankle weights, exercise ball and resistive bands.
6. Got a deadline at work? Its not an excuse to skip out on your exercise routine. Combine the two task together and work it! You can easily make a voice recording of your report while walking on the treadmill. Or do it while on your stationary bike. You might just find your mind is much clearer while doing so.
7. Run for it! Got a cordless phone at home? Well, better put back on its cradle and leave it there. The next time your phone rings answer it the extension in the other room.
